Diner Terms
Last updated: 29 September 2026
These draft terms describe browsing a Mealar-powered menu and ordering from a restaurant through it. The registered operator and final terms remain to be confirmed.
Who you buy from
Your purchase contract is with the restaurant, not with Mealar. The restaurant sets its prices (including VAT), prepares your order, and is responsible for the food. For allergen questions, ask the restaurant's staff.
Payment
Payments are processed by Stripe on the restaurant's own payment account; card details never touch Mealar's servers. The charge on your bank statement carries the restaurant's name. If a table bill is split, each share you pay is a separate payment to the restaurant under these terms.
Cancelling an order
You can cancel within five minutes of the restaurant accepting your order (fifteen minutes for pay-at-restaurant orders), provided the kitchen has not started preparing it; a paid order cancelled in time is refunded automatically. Because meals are prepared to order, the statutory right of withdrawal for distance sales does not apply.
Refunds & problems
Outside the cancellation window, refunds are decided and issued by the restaurant. If something is wrong with your order, speak to the restaurant first; Mealar can help route a request but is not the seller.
Alcohol
Alcoholic items are only available where the restaurant holds the required licence, and the restaurant must verify your age before serving.
Accounts & reviews
Placing an order creates a lightweight guest order record so you can check and later find your orders — it holds no name or contact details unless you provide them, expires after 12 months of inactivity, and can be deleted from the account area at any time. Signing in (with Google, Microsoft, Facebook, or a saved order access code) is optional and for users aged 18 or over. Reviews must reflect a genuine visit and contain nothing unlawful; Mealar may remove reviews that break this rule. How personal data is handled is described in the Privacy Policy.
Contact & governing law
Questions about these draft terms: info@mealar.com. Questions about a specific order: the restaurant. Governing law for the planned operator remains to be confirmed; mandatory consumer rights remain unaffected.
